The division that began it all, joinery remains a core area of expertise, transforming interiors – and constantly reshaping expectations.

Here, we push creative and technical boundaries, and redefine possibilities in bespoke interior glass. If it can be imagined, it can be made.

Combining groundbreaking aesthetics with precision fabrication and fitting, this division handles everything from prototyping to finishing.

From ferries and cargo ships to cruise liners and superyachts, this division delivers complete design, fit-out and refurbishment solutions.

Working independently or in conjunction with other divisions, this unit delivers speed, precision and quality in even the most complex projects.

This is where we train apprentices to recognised professional standards, enhance existing skills across the Group and explore innovation.

Our History

Established in 1988 by John B O'Hagan, Specialist Joinery Group has grown from a small team of 10 people operating out of a 5,000 sq ft workshop to one of Ireland's premiere manufacturers of bespoke joinery and fitted furniture.

1988

Established by John Bosco O'Hagan operating from 15,000 sq. ft. premises.

1990

Purchase first computer.

Early 1990s

We grow fast, with projects for clients such as Murphy’s Irish Brewery, Heineken, Northern Bank and British Midland.

1994

Computer Aided Design Department Introduced.

1994

Computer Aided Design Department Introduced.

1995

Specialist HQ, a new purpose-built production facilities and offices is established.

1997

Ciaran joins John in the business.

2000

Our assembly teams grow: we add further production equipment and increase production space. This significantly elevates our delivery capability and our portfolio develops considerably.

2001

First Multi Million Pound Project Delivered. Jumeriah Beach Resort Dubai.

2005

Sean Joins the business.

2007

Dermot joins the business. Introduction of renewable heat.

2008

Focus operations on London Market.

2011

Deliver our first project for GSK, at their Belgium Plan.

2012

Deliver our first BIM Project at Dublin Institute of Technology.

2013

Completion of Enniskillen Hospital, a flagship major project.

2013

We invest £3 million in our production capacity and increase manufacturing space to over 80,000 sq. ft.

2015

Deliver Guildhall School of Music. Establish The Specialist Academy.

2016

Open London Office

2017

Solar Panelling Installed in Factory. Digital Innovation Project Launched to introduce Automation to Manufacturing Environment.

2018

Open newly enhanced facilities totally 145,000 ft² .

2018

On our 30th Anniversary (3rd May 2018) we open our new factory extension with enhanced facilities totalling 145,000 ft². This includes technical innovations on the shop floor, upgraded office facilities, a 200-seater canteen, company gym and dedicated employee wellbeing suite.

Raise £172,800 for Charity to mark anniversary year.
